The idea for Wild Minimalist began when the owners left their jobs to travel for three months. Newly engaged, they spent 24/7 together backpacking through the Pacific Northwest and meandering through the French countryside. They lived minimally and were inspired to eliminate unnecessary waste from our lives. Upon their return to California, they started to dig into the idea of going zero waste—essentially, reducing their dependence on disposable consumer goods by investing in sustainable, reusable alternatives. They quickly realized that there was a steep learning curve in transitioning to a waste-free lifestyle and there was no one-stop shop to help us reconfigure our home. We set out to purchase many of our zero waste essentials second-hand, but recognized that there would be some items they'd have to purchase online. It was challenging to figure out which products were the most sustainable and the best quality, and it bugged them that many of these products were shipped with wasteful plastic packaging. We started Wild Minimalist to make it easier for people to begin their journey towards a zero waste lifestyle. They do this by providing high quality products made to last and shipping them with sustainable packaging materials. Ideally, as you embark on your journey, you will find many of your zero waste essentials at your local Goodwill or vintage store. When you can't find what you're looking for second-hand, they'd be proud to serve you.
